Discover Sailing

This is your chance to have a taste of what it is like to get out on the water and learn to sail. You will experience dinghy sailing accompanied by our experienced club instructors and dinghy sailing members. You will also get to have a look around the club, see the facilities and get experience our friendly club atmosphere. There will be opportunities to explore other ways to become involved in the club. Join us in our safety boats, chat to our galley volunteers and find out about the wide range of volunteer roles that we offer.
What to wear
We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and footwear that you don't mind getting wet (just in case!). If the weather isn't very warm a windproof coat would be beneficial. A buoyancy aid or lifejacket will be provided by the venue.
On the day
Don't worry if you've not been sailing before! You'll be taken out on the water with a qualified instructor or an experienced sailor.

More information
You could bring a towel and maybe some spare clothes (particularly if you are bringing children). There will be changing facilities on site. Sun hats and sunscreen are also important. We are looking forward to hearing from you and will be able to provide more details and answer any further questions you may have.
The event runs throughout the day, but you will be allocated a specific time to be taken onto the water.
