Safety Boat Refresher Day

*Member's only* This is a club-specific refresher day on safety procedures for rescuing dinghies.
The day will run from 09.00 to 16.00 and the course will cover:
- Man overboard procedures.
- Recovery of MOB.
- Priority situations.
- Towing.
- Hand signals
- Righting capsized boats.
- Code Red.
- Close quarters manoeuvres.
- Boat review to understand how to de-rig before they go on the water.
- De-rigging on the water.
- Safety boat numbers Ops and station.
- Designated radio channel.
Participants must come dressed to go into the water as we will be using our club dinghies to practise and to also bring warm clothing.
The intention is to spend the first hour in the club and then the rest of the day on the water. Please bring a packed lunch
Please be aware that this is not an RYA-recognised course but is more specific to the club's sailing needs.
